How to connect a custom domain to GrooveFunnels - the updated step-by-step process

Jul 09, 2021

In the last few weeks, the Groove team has been working round the clock to improve the user experience of the Groove apps and deliver a better system like no other. And just recently, a new significant update has been released that reduced the friction between the GrooveFunnels and Groovesters.

One of these improvements has something to do with connecting your own domain to GrooveFunnels. About four months ago, we did a step-by-step process of setting up and publishing your custom domain in Groove using the nameserver or domain host Namecheap. In this latest update, the process is pretty much the same except that there are some tweaks and changes made to accommodate the needs of Groove users.

And in this tutorial, I’m going to walk you through the easy steps on how to do that in GroovePages.

Getting Started

Register a domain name (if you don’t have one yet) to create an identity online. We personally use Namecheap because they make registering, hosting, and managing domains easy and affordable. With Namecheap, it brings your ideas to life.

Go to My Account

Login to your Groove app and click on the Profile or Avatar, then My Account.

Manage Your Domain

These are the new looks when you start adding your own domain within the app. You can refer here to the old version.

Select your domain type.

  • Full Domain/Subdomain is recommended for brand new or unused domains. Any legacy content on the domain will not be carried over.
  • Legacy Domain Setup is intended for a legacy domain with important content on it that cannot be overwritten. This will protect current domains and subdomains and will allow you to add on additional subdomains, or even use the root domain to us for your Groove apps.

Enter the URL of the domain you’d like to add.

Login to your account with your domain provider and update your nameservers to point to the records below. Once it’s added, click on the Next button and verify your domain configuration in the next step.

Validate Domain

Click on the Validate button to verify your domain configuration OR if you want to verify it later, click “I’ll do this later.”

Finish

Once you finished validating your domain, you can go back to My Domain to check it’s status. You can also check the progress using the DNS checker What’s My DNS.

After you established the connection, you may now start publishing your domain with GroovePages. For more detailed instructions and walkthroughs, you can watch the in-depth video tutorial below.
